2022-10-20linux: Avoid shifting a negative signed on POSIX timer interfaceAdhemerval Zanella
The current macros uses pid as signed value, which triggers a compiler warning for process and thread timers. Replace MAKE_PROCESS_CPUCLOCK with static inline function that expects the pid as unsigned. These are similar to what Linux does internally. Checked on x86_64-linux-gnu. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. The tls.h inclusion is not really required and limits possible definition on more arch specific headers. This is a cleanup to allow inline functions on sysdep.h, more specifically on i386 and ia64 which requires to access some tls definitions its own. No semantic changes expected, checked with a build against all affected ABIs.
2020-09-28linux: Use 64-bit time_t syscall on clock_getcputclockidAdhemerval Zanella
The syscall __NR_clock_getres_time64 (for 32-bit) or __NR_clock_getres (for 64-bit) is used as default. The 32-bit fallback is used iff __ASSUME_TIME64_SYSCALLS is not defined, which assumes the kernel ABI provides either __NR_rt_sigtimedwait (32-bit time_t). Since the symbol does not use any type which might be affected by the time_t, there is no need to add a 64-bit variant. Checked on x86_64-linux-gnu and i686-linux-gnu (on 5.4 and on 4.15 kernel). With all Linux ABIs using the expected Linux kABI to indicate syscalls errors, the INTERNAL_SYSCALL_DECL is an empty declaration on all ports. This patch removes the 'err' argument on INTERNAL_SYSCALL* macro and remove the INTERNAL_SYSCALL_DECL usage. Checked with a build against all affected ABIs.

2019-09-04Finish move of clock_* functions to libc. [BZ #24959]Zack Weinberg
In glibc 2.17, the functions clock_getcpuclockid, clock_getres, clock_gettime, clock_nanosleep, and clock_settime were moved from librt.so to libc.so, leaving compatibility stubs behind. Now that the dynamic linker no longer insists on finding versioned symbols in the same library that originally defined them, we do not need the stubs anymore, and this means we don't need GLIBC_PRIVATE __-prefix aliases for most of the functions anymore either. (clock_gettime still needs one.) For ports added before 2.17, libc.so needs to provide two symbol versions for each, the default at GLIBC_2.17 plus a compat version matching what librt had. While I'm at it, move the clock_*.c files and their tests from rt/ to time/.

Now that files using __ASSUME_* macros have been made by <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2014-06/msg00543.html> to include <kernel-features.h> directly, any include from a file not using __ASSUME_* macros can safely be removed (as there will no longer be some other file relying on indirect inclusion via a header from which the include is being removed). This patch removes such unnecessary kernel-features.h includes.
