gencat: Get rid of alloca.
Convert to scratch_buffers to avoid potential stack overflow. Checked on x86_64-linux-gnu and aarch64-linux-gnu. Reviewed-by: Adhemerval Zanella <adhemerval.zanella@linaro.org>
