2018-06-29getifaddrs: Don't return ifa entries with NULL names [BZ #21812]Daniel Alvarez
A lookup operation in map_newlink could turn into an insert because of holes in the interface part of the map. This leads to incorrectly set the name of the interface to NULL when the interface is not present for the address being processed (most likely because the interface was added between the RTM_GETLINK and RTM_GETADDR calls to the kernel). When such changes are detected by the kernel, it'll mark the dump as "inconsistent" by setting NLM_F_DUMP_INTR flag on the next netlink message. This patch checks this condition and retries the whole operation. Hopes are that next time the interface corresponding to the address entry is present in the list and correct name is returned.

POSIX specifies that both msghdr::msg_iovlen and msghdr::msg_controllen to be of size int and socklen_t respectively. However Linux defines it as both size_t and for 64-bit it requires some adjustments to make the functions standard compliance. This patch fixes it by creating a temporary header and zeroing the pad fields for 64-bits architecture where size of size_t exceeds the size of the int. Also the new recvmsg and sendmsg implementation is only added on libc, with libpthread only containing a compat symbol. The recvmsg system calls for netlink sockets have been particularly prone to picking up unrelated data after a file descriptor race (where the descriptor is closed and reopened concurrently in a multi-threaded process, as the result of a file descriptor management issue elsewhere). This commit adds additional error checking and aborts the process if a datagram of unexpected length (without the netlink header) is received, or an error code which cannot happen due to the way the netlink socket is used. Various objects in glibc bring in ifaddrs.o (via references to __netlink_*) and thereby getifaddrs and freeifaddrs, which are not part of any standard supported by glibc. These should be weak aliases of __getifaddrs and __freeifaddrs; this patch makes them so. (The path by which these functions are brought in is Linux-specific, but it seems less confusing to make all versions of these functions weak aliases rather than only the Linux-specific versions that definitely need it.) Tested for x86_64 (testsuite, and that disassembly of installed shared libraries is unchanged by this patch). Now that files using __ASSUME_* macros have been made by <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2014-06/msg00543.html> to include <kernel-features.h> directly, any include from a file not using __ASSUME_* macros can safely be removed (as there will no longer be some other file relying on indirect inclusion via a header from which the include is being removed). This patch removes such unnecessary kernel-features.h includes.
